Abstract :
BACKGROUND - Cornual ectopic pregnancy is most difficult to diagnose as site of implantation is intrauterine portion of fallopian tube and invasion through uterine wall and can be a fatal condition due to severe hemorrhage. The classic triad of ectopic pregnancy is found in around 40 percent of patients CASE REPORT - A 28 year old female came to MKCG MCH with chief complain of acute abdominal pain with 10 weeks amenorrhea. On examination, vitals were unstable and mass of around 8 weeks size felt in right fornix with mild cervical motion tenderness per vaginally. On ultrasound empty uterine cavity with right sided live ectopic pregnancy with CRL corresponding to 10+2 wks of gestation was found following which emergency laprotomy was done. Intraoperatively, it was found to be right sided ruptured cornual ectopic pregnancy DISCUSSION- Managing cornual ectopic pregnancy depends on whether it has ruptured and stability of the patient. Traditional treatment is surgical but milder symptoms can be managed medically by methotrexate CONCLUSION - Early diagnosis and timely treatment are key to management, with ultrasound and beta HCG levels it has been managed quickly and accordingly Keywords - intraoperative, cornual ectopic, emergency laprotomy
