Abstract :
intro: GTDare proliferative as well as degenerative disorders of placental trophoblastic tissueThere are two subunits in HCG. The TSH, LH and FSH alpha subunits are all the same. Despite being bigger, the beta subunit resembles the TSH beta subunit. Therefore it stimulates the thyroid follicle. aim & obj :To correlate between the thyroid function tests with serum beta HCG level in patients with different types of molar pregnancies. material & method:Cross-sectional observational study in Department of OG SCBMCH , CUTTACK, ODISHA,for 12 months.Study population >Pregnant women diagnosed as molar pregnancyINCLUSION CRITERIAComplete molar pregnancy&Incomplete molar pregnancy.EXCLUSION CRITERIA>Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. An obstetric ultrasound examination was performed to diagnose molar pregnancy.Baseline serum Beta-HCG. Results:beta hcg and fT3 = positive correlation.Beta HCG and fT4= positive correlation Beta HCG and Serum TSH = negative correlation. conclusion:this study, a significant positive relationship was observed between the serum level of ?-HCGfreeT3, and freeT4 in patients with hydatidiform mole. A weak & negative correlation was found between ?-HCG levels and TSH. The mean level of ?-HCG was higher in the group with clinical hyperthyroidism than that of the group with subclinical hyperthyroidism. Thyroid storm is a rare complication.
