Abstract :
Introduction: Chromopertubation a standard method for assessing tubal patency, requires effective cannulas. This study evaluates the safety, ease of use, and benefits of Palve?s DC cannula for chromopertubation in infertility evaluations. Aims and Objectives: To assess the performance of Palve?s DC cannula in chromopertubation procedures, focusing on tubal patency visualization, operative ease, patient safety, and postoperative outcomes, highlighting its novel features and clinical advantages. Material and Methods : A prospective study was conducted on 25 women undergoing diagnostic laparoscopy for infertility. Patients underwent chromopertubation using Palve?s DC cannula under general anesthesia. Parameters such as ease of insertion, tubal visualization, complications, and postoperative pain were recorded. The dilator?s appropriate size for cervix dilation and the cannula's effect on uterine positioning were also assessed. Inclusion criteria involved infertility cases requiring tubal patency assessment, and exclusions were uterine abnormalities or prior pelvic surgeries. Results: Palve?s DC cannula provided excellent tubal visualization by maintaining the uterus in anteversion, improving tubal visualization during chromopertubation. Its dilators, available in appropriate sizes, facilitated effective cervical dilation when needed. The innovative design, avoiding a screwing mechanism to fix the cannula, reduced cervical trauma and minimized risks of future cervical incompetence. Patients experienced less postoperative pain, and complication rates were remarkably low. These advantages affirm the efficacy and safety of Palve?s DC cannula for chromopertubation procedures in infertility evaluations. Conclusions: Palve?s DC cannula offers significant benefits for chromopertubation, including enhanced uterine anteversion for better tubal visualization, effective cervical dilation with appropriate dilators, and a non-invasive fixation mechanism that minimizes cervical trauma. These features improve patient safety, reduce postoperative pain, and lower complication rates. Its versatility extends to other diagnostic procedures like hysterosalpingography (HSG) and hydrotubation, making it a valuable tool for infertility evaluations.
