Abstract :
Introduction Placental Chorioangioma is a benign vascular tumour derived from primitive chorionic mesenchyme, typically composed of an abnormal proliferation of blood vessels. Its occurs in approximately one percent of pregnancies. Aims and objectives Aims: Accurate diagnosis, complication management and research and understanding. Objectives: Assessment of risk, monitoring strategies, intervention protocols, outcome analysis and patient education. These aims and objectives guide healthcare professionals in providing comprehensive care for pregnancies affected by Chorioangioma. Material and methods Materials: Study populations (pregnant women diagnosed with Chorioangioma through prenatal imaging), imaging equipment (ultrasound/MRI), clinical data (medical records including demographic information, obstetrics history and prenatal care details and laboratory tests). Methods: Study design, inclusion and exclusion criteria, data collection includes ultrasound evaluation , follow-up ultrasounds to monitor fetal well being and other complications, outcome measures (fetal growth parameters, incidence of complications and delivery outcomes), statistical analysis, ethical considerations (obtain informed consent from participants and ensure compliance with ethical standards) Results Chorioangioma is found in 1%-2% of pregnancies with varying incidence reports based on different populations and study designs. Clinical outcomes Fetal growth - larger tumours > 4cm are likely to be associated with intrauterine growth restriction. Complications - Fetal anemia, preterm labour and polyhydramnios. Delivery outcome - Many pregnancies with Chorioangioma can proceed till term but requires close monitoring. Delivery complications including fetal distress and need of caesarean section may be seen. Most cases are managed with careful monitoring however intervention required in severe cases. Conclusion Research highlights the importance of early diagnosis and monitoring of Chorioangioma, as well as the potential for complications that can impact both maternal and fetal health. Each case requires a tailored approach to ensure the best possible outcomes.
