Abstract :
Background: India grapples with a high burden of infant mortality and preterm births, yet there is a paucity of research examining the interplay between risk factors for iatrogenic and spontaneous preterm deliveries and neonatal outcomes in the Indian context. A comprehensive analysis of these factors?encompassing rates, demographics, and perinatal outcomes?would facilitate more precise identification and management of high-risk pregnancies. Such insights could significantly enhance maternal and neonatal health outcomes by preventing the recurrence of preterm births while alleviating the strain on healthcare infrastructure. Objectives: The primary objective is to assess the risk factors associated with spontaneous and iatrogenic preterm births and their perinatal outcomes. The secondary objective is to compare various neonatal outcomes between iatrogenic and spontaneous preterm births. Methods: The study is a prospective observational study with a duration of one year. The inclusion criteria are women delivering between 24 weeks and 36 weeks 6 days of gestation, excluding stillbirths and fetuses with lethal congenital anomalies. Results: Conclusion and statistical analysis will be presented during the main presentation as the sample size has not yet been met. Thank you.
