Abstract
Introduction
PPCM is a rare form of dilated cardiomyopathy with systolic failure presenting in last month of pregnancy or within 5 months of postpartum
Aim & Objective:
To study pattern of presentation&Course of disease.
To rule out the possibility of PPCM in a patient presenting with dyspnoea,fatigue,shock in postoperative period .
Method of study:
Retrospective study
Results:
Possibility of PPCM in a patient presenting with dyspnoea in postoperative period should be ruled out though she has preceeding LRI.
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a close differential diagnosis.
Echo is a single best tool in identifying LV function and prediction of recovery.
Conclusion:
PPCM is an diagnosis of exclusion.
Early diagnosis is important,thereby giving effective treatment increases the chance of complete recovery and decreased incidence of mortality .
