Introduction - Compressive Myelopathy refers to neurologic deficit result from compression of spinal cord either from outside or within cord due to degenerative disease, trauma , tumor or infection. Here we report a case of Compressive Myelopathy related to pregnancy of vertebral hemangioma . Pregnancy can exacerbate growth of hemangiomas resulting in spinal cord compression. Objective - To describe presentation and treatment of Compressive Myelopathy in pregnant women. Material - A 23 yr old G2 P1 L1 with 37.3 wks came on wheel chair with urethral foleys insitu with her relatives to Labor room as she was unable to walk . Patient was giving history of unable to walk and loss of sensory and motor function in both lower limbs with fecal and urinary incontinence. MRI s/o hemangioma D11,D12,L1,L2,L3 vertebra . On examination she was in latent labor & underwent painless vaginal delivery. After delivery laminectomy done . Result - Improved motor and sensory function. Conclusion - This case represents rare presentation of Compressive Myelopathy from hemangioma in young pregnant women. As it can lead to serious neurologic deficits if not treated immediately.
