Title: A RARE CASE OF ABDOMINAL PREGNANCY

INTRODUCTION Abdominal pregnancy is the rare diagnosis belong to the ectopic pregnancy group leading cause of pregnancy related mortality and morbidity. Incidence is 10.9 in 100,000 Live birth AIMS AND OBJECTIVE To describe the case of late abdominal pregnancy and intervention to reduce the maternal morbidity and mortality MATERIAL AND METHODS Case Report: A 38 year old female patient was referred to the emergency obstetrics unit in Assam medical College and Hospital Dibrugarh with pain in abdomen since 2 days with history of 5 months amenorrhoea .A urine pregnancy pregnancy test revealed positive.she was fourth Gravida with previous three vaginal deliveries.on examination she was revealed tender suprapubic mass .A bedside ultrasound confirmed a single live extrauterine pregnancy at approximately 20 Weeks 3day's accompanied by anterior placenta . RESULT Patient was taken for emergency laparotomy ,upon entering in peritoneal cavity a viable fetus weighing 279 gram was found in intact amniotic sac.placenta was noted to be implanted on ileum and was removed as complete as possible .A loop ileostomy was done . Uterine surface, ovaries and Fallopian tube were grossly normal which supports the diagnosis of primary abdominal pregnancy . Bilateral tubectomy was done. Reversal of ileostomy was done after 3 months now patient is normal CONCLUSION: First trimester ultrasonography is should be mandetory to diagnosis of location of pregnancy Abdominal pregnancy can be regarded as difficult diagnosis to Establish .It is very rare condition but very high rate of fetomaternal morbidity and mortality
